Crayon-manner engraving. The sheet’s top edges are pasted onto 19th century mount hand-painted and with a drawn cartouche with Amour writing “Boucher”. Framed in contemporary or 19th century gilt frame.

Size of sheet: 16 x 13.5 cm. Mount size: 26.5 x 23.3 cm.

 

Leymarie, 1896, No.148; IFF 6:148.

 

Provenance: a part of unidentified collector’s stamp.

 

Beautiful impression on laid paper trimmed to the image.

 

This print is one of the first multi-colour engravings executed by Demarteau. In April 1767, Demarteau presented the print to the Academie.
