Marie Laurencin: Tête de femme

During the early years of the 20th century, Laurencin was an important figure in the Parisian avant-garde. During her lifetime the artist had an incredible success, both critical and material. She exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants (1910-1911) and the Salon d'Automne (1911-1912), and Galerie Dalmau (1912) at the first Cubist exhibition in Spain.

Laurencin created an alternative reality, which was totally unique to her: it was populated with an aesthetic which was completely female. Laurencin's oeuvre includes paintings, watercolours, drawings, and prints.
