“In most of my pieces, the contrast between high-gloss varnish and matt canvas makes the subject stand out. The mirror effect of the varnish makes the looker an integral part of the work. I use relief, manipulating the surface to suggest that the subject is stepping out of the pictorial environment”.

After earning a degree in graphic design, he worked as an illustrator for a number of years. Then, in 2002, he made a major career change, deciding to devote himself to painting full time. His work has been shown in Canada and the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
